Common Questions
The app is not loading questions
Try deleting the app and reinstalling it. This resets the local database and reloads all 443 questions from scratch. Your progress will be reset.
I found an incorrect answer
Please email us with the question number (e.g. Q1045) and what you believe the correct answer should be. Include a reference to the Official MTO Driver's Handbook if possible. We take accuracy seriously and will review it promptly.
How do I reset my progress?
Open the app, go to the More tab, then tap "Reset All Progress" under the Progress section. This clears all study data, exam history, and bookmarks.
Is the app available for Android?
Currently, the app is available for iOS only. You can use the free web version at canadadrivertest.com on any device.
Does the app work offline?
Yes. All 443 questions, road signs, and study materials are stored locally on your device. You do not need an internet connection to study or take practice tests.
How is the G1 test scored?
The G1 knowledge test has 40 questions in two parts: 20 about road rules and 20 about road signs. You must score at least 16/20 (80%) on each part separately. Getting 32/40 overall is not enough if one part is below 16.
Where should I book my G1 test?
Book your G1 test at a DriveTest centre. You can find locations and schedule appointments at drivetest.ca. The fee is $15.75 and includes the knowledge test, your first road test, and a 5-year licence.
Is this app affiliated with the government?
No. Canada Driver Test is an independent educational app. We are not affiliated with the Ontario Ministry of Transportation, DriveTest, or any government agency. Our questions are based on the Official MTO Driver's Handbook but are not official test questions.
